A 13-year-old choir boy mesmerizes the cathedral with an outstanding Ave Maria performance. Video

Young choir singer Cormac Thompson hails from Lancashire in the United Kingdom. He began singing when he was only 8 years old.

He started a YouTube channel in 2020 and started posting videos there before Decca Records discovered him and wanted to collaborate with him to create an album.

The video that follows is from Cormac’s entry in the BBC competition ‘Young Chorister of the Year.’

Every year, BBC Songs of Praise and Radio 2 hold this contest. It was always Cormac’s goal to sing for the Queen, but alas that was not to be, so he republished this performance as a tribute to her.

The next best thing is to share with you my solo performance of ‘Songs of Praise’ (taken on December 21 at Salisbury Cathedral). He performs the Gounod/Bach song Ave Maria.
